Frequently asked questions
Short, direct answers about how BangBang works for outlets and workers in Singapore.
About BangBang
What is BangBang?
BangBang (帮帮) is a Singapore app that connects F&B outlets with verified part-time workers for single shifts. Outlets post a shift, verified workers accept it, and the outlet pays the worker directly by PayNow after the shift.
What kind of jobs are on BangBang?
BangBang focuses on F&B shifts such as waiter, kitchen helper, barista and dishwasher roles at cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and hawker stalls.
Which areas does BangBang cover?
BangBang is built for Singapore and is starting with F&B outlets. Which shifts you see depends on where outlets post and where workers are nearby.
Is BangBang a staffing agency?
No. BangBang is a platform that connects outlets and workers; the outlet agrees the shift and pay and pays the worker directly. BangBang does not mark up the worker's hourly rate.
Who handles CPF, work passes and other employment rules?
Please check with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and CPF Board for what applies to your situation. BangBang does not provide legal or payroll advice on this site.
How do I contact BangBang?
Open the app and use the support option, or use the contact details in the website footer.
Costs and payment
Is BangBang free for workers?
Yes, workers pay nothing to use BangBang. There are no sign-up fees, no booking fees and no commission taken from your pay; the outlet pays you the full agreed rate.
How much does BangBang cost outlets?
BangBang is free for outlets during the pilot, for shifts that start on or before 28 Feb 2027. After that the fee is $2 per worked hour, charged only for hours actually worked.
Is the first shift really free?
Yes, your outlet's first shift is free. Together with the free pilot until 28 Feb 2027, you can try BangBang without paying BangBang anything.
How do outlets pay workers?
Outlets pay workers directly by PayNow after the shift. BangBang does not hold your money or sit in the middle of the payment, so there is no agency invoice and no waiting for a payout.
Does BangBang take a cut of the worker's pay?
No. The worker's pay goes from the outlet to the worker by PayNow. BangBang's only charge is the per-hour fee to the outlet, and that fee is currently waived during the free pilot.
When does the free pilot end?
The free pilot covers shifts that start on or before 28 Feb 2027. From the next day, outlets pay $2 per worked hour.
How do workers get paid?
Workers are paid by PayNow, directly by the outlet, after the shift hours are confirmed. Make sure your PayNow details in the app are correct.
Posting and shifts
How do I post a shift?
Open the BangBang app, choose your outlet, and enter the role, date, start and end time and hourly pay. The shift goes out to verified workers straight away.
How fast can I get someone?
Often within hours, but it depends on the role, time, pay and how many workers are nearby. Shifts posted with more notice and a fair hourly rate usually fill faster.
What is the 24-hour timesheet review?
After a shift ends, the outlet has 24 hours to review and confirm the worked hours on the timesheet. This gives both sides a clear record of the hours before payment is made by PayNow.
What happens if hours are wrong on the timesheet?
The outlet can review and correct the hours within the 24-hour window before confirming. Workers can see the hours recorded for their shift.
What if a worker does not show up?
Outlets can rate and report no-shows, which affects the worker's reliability record on BangBang. Because workers are rated, reliable workers become easier to spot over time.
Can I cancel a shift?
Yes, you can cancel a shift from the app. Cancelling early is fairer to workers who have planned around it, and repeated late cancellations may be reflected in ratings.
Verification and ratings
Are workers verified?
Yes, workers are verified before they can take shifts. Outlets see a worker's verified status and past ratings on the booking.
What does verification involve?
Workers verify their phone number and identity details inside the app before booking shifts. The exact checks may change as BangBang grows, so check the app for the current steps.
How do ratings and reliability work?
After each shift, outlets and workers can rate each other. Ratings and reliability history help outlets choose workers they can count on and help good workers get booked again.
The app
Do I need to download an app?
Yes, BangBang runs as a mobile app. Android users can download it now from heybangbang.com/download; other platforms are planned.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. BangBang is available for Android now, with Play Store and App Store listings planned for later.
